Event itemdeleting which wasnt handled

The ProcessEvent function can be handling multiple events. You may have tried to load the item when other events were fired. This isn't an answer, but I have seen behaviour that's similar to this as well, although not quite the same as your case.

In my case, when the registered remote event receiver for the item deleting event couldn't be invoked, the item was deleted. But this wasn't a timing related scenario like yours in my case, I had a few different config errors that were stopping things working.

Once I fixed the config, everything worked as described. However, this was just for a proof on concept. I'm not comfortable with the default "go ahead if the event receiver can't be reached" approach that's taken, so I'm thinking of alternatives probably will use workflow.

Hi this answer is not correct. Although you have retrieved the item , you will find that none of the metadata is retrievable.

Try loadng the item and retrieving the values custom column values! Its always empty. Is there any way to retrieve the values in Item deleting event? If this parameter is absent, a default value of false is assumed. Given an event listener previously added by calling addEventListener , you may eventually come to a point at which you need to remove it.

Obviously, you need to specify the same type and listener parameters to removeEventListener. But what about the options or useCapture parameters? Its value must match for removeEventListener to match, but the other values don't. The first call fails because the value of useCapture doesn't match. Out of curiousity, does anyone have insight into the observed behavior? Questions about this are usually asked from one of two perspectives: The developer wants the keychain item to persist and is seeking reassurance that things will continue to work that way.
