How many x men have died

The one time he actually did die was in Deadpool 2 when he jumped in front of a bullet to save Russel while wearing a mutant power suppression collar before being saved by Cable using his time travel device. Although Deadpool is usually a comedic character , the genuine action of him sacrificing himself was still pretty moving. Like Deadpool, Wolverine is a hard character to kill due to his incredibly powerful healing factor, which is a large reason why he was able to outlive all the members of the X-Men.

However, the character finally met his end at years old after being impaled on a log by X while attempting to get Laura and the other children to safety. Laura manages to kill X and Logan dies in her arms after telling her not to be the weapon she was created to be. She later buries him and is last shown changing the cross on his grave into the shape of an X. It was an amazing sendoff to one of the series' most popular characters and was considered by many to be the unofficial end of the franchise even though 2 movies would follow it.

He has a passion for film, art, music and all other forms of artistic expression. When he is not spending his time writing, he enjoys watching tv and movies. By Wesley Bell Published Jan 24, Share Share Tweet Email 0. North of 30 characters died in the Age of X-Man storyline, including Wolfsbane , a decision met with a tremendous amount of controversy.

Much of the impact of this unfortunate death - and all of the others in the story- got lost in the glare of the story that immediately followed. The story serves as a bit of a retcon of the landmark Giant-Sized X-Men 1, which had the new X-Men assemble to save the old from the island of Krakoa. Despite being a longstanding member of the team and even a fairly significant player in the X-Men: First Class film, the death of Banshee didn't land with much force.

As with pretty much every X-Man who has ever died, he is later shown to be alive on Krakoa in Dawn of X. Maggot lost his life in a horrific concentration camp for mutants called Neverland.

Sad as his death was, it didn't have as much impact as other X-deaths, perhaps due to the general reception to the character. Maggot was introduced in the late 90s billed as one of the weirdest mutants around, and that he was. His mutant ability consisted of his digestive system actually being a pair of slugs that ate basically anything and could go in and out of his body at will.

At least Xorn goes out in style. Wolverine decapitated him after Xorn killed Jean Grey - an empty death worthy of note on this list - and one that ended the character's controversial run. Xorn was a character introduced during Grant Morrison's run on the X-Men and was later revealed to be Magneto, who was thought to be dead no one is ever really dead. This decision didn't quite work despite Morrison's planning for it from the jump and both Xorn and Magneto returned anyway. The Multiple Man died as a result of exposure to the Terrigen Mists , back when that seemed like it was going to potentially be a very big deal in the MCU.

Madrox died along with his 'dupes,' or duplicates, making the X-Men aware of the danger to mutants from the mists, which have been around a while. The Terrigen Mists are a Kree mineral that they used to experiment on humans in the ancient past and this experimentation ultimately led to the creation of the Inhumans.

The mutant woman called Kwannon died from the Legacy Virus, a techno-organic scourage that afflicted other members of the X-Men world, including Cable. Colossus injects himself with the deadly virus- spelling his own end, but unleashing a cure for mutantkind. Saying farewell to this dearly departed X-Woman proved temporary- although she was killed during a mission in Spain, Betsy Braddock would return under mysterious circumstances, re-joining the team in Uncanny X-Men Deadly Genesis featured the rise of Vulcan, the unhinged and despotic brother of Cyclops and Havok.

Anti-mutant extremist William Stryker launches a missile attack on a bus of students, killing all onboard. This buzzkill issue also saw New X-Man Icarus incur mortal wounds. All while protecting Hope Summers, the Mutant Messiah.
